Big Ben tour

7 months ago I booked a guided tour for Big Ben. This tour can only be booked by residents in UK as you need to have an address here and prove that you live there. The tour is booked through your local MP (Member of Parliament) who then makes the arrangements with the visitor’s centre. It is a lot of bookings and they can’t take too many at a time so the waiting time is approximately 6 months.

We had to sign papers that we were healthy and in good conditions to climb the 314 steps, we were going 60 meters up. Emelie is afraid of heights but came along but did not enjoy the view, I think she was brave that did it anyway. We were told the history of the clock, tower and also saw the clock work which still is the same.

We stood behind the clock face and saw the hands move and ended it with standing next to the bells when the clock strike noon (with earplugs). Powerful, cool and fantastic.
