Hampton Court Palace

Peter and I went to Hampton Court Palace today, the girls stayed home as they had too much homework and weren’t very interested.

Hampton Court Palace is an old former royal residence, once home of many Tudor and Stuart monarchs, but also William III and Mary II lived there. We saw the kitchen of Henry VIII and how they prepared food for all the people at the court, we learned that pie was a way to cook meat and you were not supposed to eat the pie dough. We saw how the stored the food and drinks, their private rooms as well as the rooms that was used for audiences. They have a wonderful garden but we only looked at it through the windows as it was very windy and cold today. But the highlight was that they were using the kitchen to cook and explain how and why they did as they did during Henry VIII time.
