Sheraton Sand Key Resort

Yesterday we were invited to Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater by the CEO of the resort for a dinner and a stay.

Peter and I arrived shortly after 4pm and checked in. We went to our room where we were welcomed by some wine and cheese. Had a glass of red wine on the balcony before we went downstairs and took a walk on the beach. The hotel is located at the very top of Clearwater and has a huge beach. The beach is often used for concerts or other big parties.

We were meeting with the CEO, his wife, the Danish and French SNR together with their wives at 5:45 but as the others got stuck in traffic it was a bit delayed.

There was a jazz festival going on in the hotel as well so lot of people and music everywhere. We got passes to go and see the different band while waiting for the Danes and French. The jazz festival has been coming to the hotel for 35 years except last year due to the pandemic.

Once everyone was there we headed in to the restaurant where Mr Kimbell had a table by the kitchen. He’s been the CEO for 40 years and runs a nice place.

The food was outstanding with scallops and shrimps as a starter, then I had a pasta and Peter had salmon and we all had bread pudding as dessert.
