Helping the community

Tonight I had signed up to help handing out food to servicemen and first responders, and their families, who needs support.

As I don’t know this area and know the traffic might be busy I wanted to be there early. I arrived 15 minutes prior to when it said we had to be there. Well, I’m glad I wasn’t even earlier as it was only me and one man from the organisation.

Once the truck arrived with the food it was put out for us to start packing the different bags. This was the first time they did this so it was a bit unorganised but I’m sure it will improve.

This organisation behind Service to Service is called Bautista Project and they are working together with Feeding Tampa Bay.

It was nice and I will do it again even if we only had a few that received food. As we were standing on the grounds of a church, who hands out food on Fridays to their community, we had several people coming up and asking for food. What was left when we closed was given to the church to use on Friday.
